Breaking Heads, a new play of the waterfront by Ron Hutchinson

Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 7:30 pm

Coming soon to Arts on the Lake

Anthony Patellis convincingly reads a new play written for him by Ron Hutchinson after working together on The Hook in Brooklyn.

Ron Hutchinson started his mafia research when he wrote the script for HBO’s Perfect Witness (1989). With a grandfather who worked in Belfast shipyards, he continued his waterfront research for Ghosts of the Titanic. While working this spring on The Hook in Brooklyn, Ron met actor Anthony Patellis and the two started work on Breaking Heads.
Known for the film Team Marco (2019), the series Tulsa King (2022), and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999), Mr. Patellis has also sung in West Side Story at La Scala in Milan and, as one of the producers, he leaves the last week in September to inaugurate the Italian production of Tony n' Tina's Wedding.
As a boss on the Brooklyn waterfront at the beginning of containerization. he makes decisions that affect his union, his family and his life.

Author Nathan Ward who wrote the classic expose of dockland crime, “Dark Harbor – the War for the New York Waterfront” will join the post show discussion on Saturday.
Last January's reading of Ghosts of the Titanic sold out. To be sure of getting a seat for Breaking Heads it is best to reserve in advance by choosing any donation level from $5 to $35 irrespective of label after clicking "Buy Tix" button above.
