Press Release: Professor Courage to Give Multimedia Presentation

Westchester Community College Literature Professor Richard Courage will give a multimedia presentation, The Great Gatsby and the Harlem Renaissance, at Arts on the Lake, 640 Route 52, Lake Carmel, on Sunday, November 4, at 3 pm. One of the events organized around Putnam Reads The Great Gatsby, Arts on the Lake is partnering with the Kent Public Library in this free lecture. Fund-Raiser Success

With Ray Jessel’s songs, the sale of an original Peter Max, good food and conversation, over 120 party-goers (including Putnam County’s political leaders) assembled at the Sedgewood Boathouse last Saturday (9/29) for A 1920's House Party.  As matching funds are still coming in, a final tally needs be postponed, but early reports are it was our most successful and enjoyable fund-raiser yet.

Raffle Results

William J. Frohne won the AotL raffle drawing for one free admission to A 1920's House Party.  We thank all entrants and hope to see them at the Sedgewood Boathouse this Saturday.  Individual tickets can still be purchased here.

Putnam County Reads The Great Gatsby

In partnering with Putnam Libraries to encourage the county-wide reading of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby this fall, Arts on the Lake is offering a multimedia lecture on The Great Gatsby and the Harlem Renaissance on Sunday, November 4 at 3 pm.

Vote Early and Often

Chase Community GivingVOTE for Arts on the Lake in the Chase Community Giving program by WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 19 to decide which charities share in $5 million in grants.  You can vote via Facebook (accept the CGC App) or, for Chase customers, visit Chase Community Giving. If you have both Facebook and Chase on-line accounts, you can cast two votes for Arts on the Lake.  Then tell all your friends to do the same.

Fall Art Exhibit — Call for Entries

The Visual Arts Committee (VAC) of Arts on the Lake is hosting the Fall Exhibition to celebrate local artists. The exhibition is open to artists 18 years and older. The deadline for registration is Wednesday, September 19. See the prospectus for more information.

Press Release: David Amram to Play Concert at Sedgewood

Putnam’s David Amram will celebrate friends of almost sixty years in a concert of his music at the Sedgewood Club Boathouse, 1026 Barrett Circle West, Kent, NY, on Saturday, August 11 at 8 pm. A pioneer player of jazz French horn, Amram has composed more than 100 orchestral and chamber works, written theatre and film scores. Read full press release
