Studio To Wall: The Commerce of Art - New Session in January

Tony Carretta's class, "Studio to Wall: The Commerce of Art," has been rescheduled to start on Saturday, January 31. The course provides "an artist's blueprint to the business of art" for artists as they navigate the world of commercial galleries. This class is for both new and returning students. In this session, Carretta plans to have students concentrate on presentation. For more information click here

Due to the snow we will not be holding the Zumba Class this evening or the Jazz Rehearsal scheduled for tonight.

Elizbeth Hill in Group and Solo Show

Elizabeth Hill who is teaching "Beyond the Basics" an intermediate drawing class starting this month, has a solo exhibition starting this week, as well as work in a group show at the Brattleboro Museum in Brattleboro, Vt.

Please save Saturday, February 7th, from 7 - 9 pm for the Winter Members Gathering. In the dead of winter, what could be better than gathering with your fellow members and friends. It is a chance to socialize with other members, introduce friends to the Center, and celebrate AotL. We will provide more information in the coming weeks.

New Session of Intensive Painting

A new session of Intensive Painting started on January 6.

Taught by Alex Shundi, this class will explore the human condition through individual development of ideas with discussions on formation of concept, approaches and materials. The class is designed for both advanced and beginning students regardless of disciplines chosen: landscape, figure, still life, abstract, etc. Students should bring whatever medium is preferred, an easel, if possible, and whatever previous work they would like to discuss and present.For more information click here

Press release: Stand-Up Comic Frank Vignola Joins McBee and Bhasin at Arts on the Lake

Comic’s comic Frank Vignola will join Charles McBee and Akash Bhasin at Arts on the Lake’s first Stand-Up Comedy Night on Saturday, November 22, at 8 pm. Known as “The Diversity Show,” the evening has been organized by Adam Oliensis, producer of LoHud Comedy. Said Oliensis, “What an Indian, an African-American and an Italian-Irish-American have in common is the ability to break down stereotypes through laughter.”  Read full press release.

Houses On The Moon Theatre Company to play Lake Carmel

Houses on the Moon Theatre Company will bring storytellers and performers to Arts on the Lake, 640 Route 52, Lake Carmel, on Saturday, October 25, at 8 pm for a preview of their new show, “gUN COUNTRY.” Based in Manhattan, Houses on the Moon is noted for its documentary work.
