Party at the Boathouse fall fund-raiser

Arts on the Green Benefit Event

If you attended or heard about our Fall Party last year, you know this is the fund-raiser that has the best entertainment, good food, warm friends – in short a delightful party. This year's event will be held at the Sedgewood Boathouse on China Pond in western Kent.

Party at the Boathouse will feature music, food, drinks and entertainment including a silent auction (see the Gallery below to preview a selection of silent auction items) and will honor Kent residents James and Wilma Baker whose early support through PLAN Kent and recognition of the potential for the arts to being a community together enabled Arts on the Lake to open its public doors in 2007.

The Honorees
In the late 1950’s, Carmel High School teacher James Baker and his wife Wilma (Née Koulenschmidt) bought the former tenant-farmer house of a dairy farm on Nichols Street where they still, after many renovations, live. At various points, they were instrumental in starting the Kent Public Library and the Kent Recycling Center. In the spring of 2007, through PLAN Kent, they made a significant gift to AotL enabling it to purchase the equipment necessary to mount the first exhibit and the early performances of Open Mouth.
