Young Performers Series: Gabriel Harrison - Visions of Beauty

Friday, August 14, 2020 at 7:00 pm

Coming soon to Arts on the Lake

A virtual performance of original compositions and others works for piano

A Live Stream Event - www.facebook/Artsonthelake/

A Crucial Part of Arts on the Lake's mission is to provide a home for young artists to create and perform. Gabriel Harrison is a remarkable young person, whose multi-dimensional capabilities have often been a subject conversation a the Center as he has been involved there for a number of years.  Most recently he was a "right hand man" to Tim Ouimette, founder and leader of the Arts on the Lake Jazz Band which also played one of Gabriel's compositions. He grew up in Carmel, graduated from Carmel High School and currently studies at Boston University.

A classically trained pianist he also plays the bassoon. His program for this event will include a diverse range of works.

Aram Khachaturian - Toccata in E-Flat Minor (1932)

(Russian composer from early 20th Century)

Frederick Chopin - Nocturne in C#Minor (no. 20)

Felix Mendelssohn - Melodie

J.S. Bach - Prelude and Fugue in C Minor

He is genuinely interested in the meaning in music and it's ability to communicate powerful inspirational ideas.

Join Gabriel Harrison for a mixture of performance and commentary on the performer's favorite piano works and original compositions.

This is a Virtual Concert and will be streamed live on Facebook. Please go to the Arts on the Lake Facebook page to view the live stream.  There will also be a limited invited audience at the Center.

This project is made possible, in part, through the Putnam Arts Council’s Arts Link Grant Program with public funds provided through the NY State Council on the Arts with support from Governor Andres M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
