Andy Offutt Irwin - Squeaky on the Roof

With hilarious heart-filled stories, and amazing mouth noises, (arguably, the greatest whistler in the world) one-person-showman Andy Offutt Irwin is equal parts mischievous schoolboy and the Marx Brothers, peppered with a touch of the Southern balladeer.

One of the most sought after performing storytellers in the United States, he performs regularly throughout the country. He has been a Featured Teller at the National Storytelling Festival nine times. He has won the Storytelling World Award 7 times and was the recipient of the 2013 National Storytelling Network’s ORACLE Circle of Excellence Award. He has received a Parent's Choice Honor for one of his children's albums and was the emcee at last year's National Storytelling Festival.

A storyteller, theater director, singer-songwriter, and keynote speaker, Andy has been Artist-in-Residence at Emory University’s Oxford College since 1991 where he was the recipient of the Sammy Clark Award for Exemplary Teaching and Service. Andy is a perennial favorite of the Teller-in-Residence Program at the International Storytelling Center in Jonesborough, Tennessee.

Andy lives in the town where he grew up – which is the same town where his mama grew up, which is the same town where his mama’s mama grew up, which is the same town where his mama’s mama’s mama grew up, which is the same town where his his mama’s mama’s mama’s mama grew up – Covington, Georgia.
