This year we celebrate Hoagy Carmichael, considered by many to be the most important American songwriter of the 20th Century. With classics, such as Georgia, Heart and Soul, In the Cool Cool Cool of the Evening, and many more, his legacy of songs and music has helped define the American Songbook.

His son, Hoagy Bix Carmichael, will join us providing insight, memories and humorous stories about his father, his music and their lives.

The musical tribute will be led by player, arranger and composer Tim Ouimette with members of the AotL Jazz Ensemble who have played or recorded with Ray Charles, Keith Richards, Count Basie, Ray Barretto, Sam Parkins, Bailey, Barry Bryson, Peter Ecklund, and Trio Shalva among many others.

Vocalists are singer, composer, and arranger Darryl Tookes, (Leonard Bernstein, Roberta Flack, Sting, Paul Simon, Bobby McFerrin, Michael Jackson) and Kati Mac (Meatloaf, Sting, 7 time Emmy Nominee for Songwriting).

All are invited to this annual party which benefits the on-going work of Arts on the Lake. Held at the Sedgewood Boathouse,  we are also commemorating that Carmichael played 80 years ago for the Sedgewood Club and that this event kicks off the Club's start of celebrating its 90th birthday next Spring.

Join us for a wonderful evening of camaraderie, dinner, a silent auction of popular and rare items and this remarkable musical tribute.

The Sedgewood Boathouse overlooks China Pond in Kent and is handicapped accessible. Its address is 1026 Barrett Circle West, Kent, NY 10512.

Tickets are $75 per person and $700 for a table of 10.
