Invitation to a Hanging - The Art of Presentation
Saturday, February 25, 2017 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
A one day workshop with Tony Carretta
This is a unique opportunity to bring 2 of your works of art [or small group that comprises one work of art] and be a part of an actual exhibition installation at AotL. The workshop is designed to give insight into how exhibits are installed at a professional level as well as how you can maximize the presentation of your work when submitting for public exhibition.
Participants will discuss and answer questions on how to get the most out of your finished pieces, as well as important considerations when participating in exhibits. The workshop will culminate with the actual pricing of your work ‘as if’ this was going to be seen by the public at an established gallery.
This will be performance art at its best as you watch your work integrated into a professional level exhibit that will change the way you think about your work and the critical element of presentation on a personal and public level.
The workshop is given by Tony Carretta who is an artist, gallery owner and author. His work is in the Smithsonian, and he recently wrote the book, Studio to Wall:The Commerce of Art.
