Arts on the Lake News
Neil Hickey dies.
It is with great sadness that we announce that our long-time friend, founding member and supporter of the Arts Center Neil Hickey died yesterday (3/21/24) of a sudden heart attack at the age of 92. He was saddened by the death of his wife Lisa last month and in the midst of planning a memorial for her. Active until the end, Neil attended the opening of “Dirt” last Friday and conversed freely with the creators and his friends in the audience.
May the blessings of St. Patrick be upon him.
Ron Hutchinson writes again.
Between Breaking Heads at AotL on Sept. 23, and Cadenza, scheduled for April 13, Ron Hutchinson found time to write The Call for a BBC broadcast on January 18 and A Leap in the Dark for a well-received opening on Feb 9 at the New Vic Theatre in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, England. You can hear the BBC broadcast (45 min) here and reserve tickets for Cadenza at AotL here.
