2026 - Intensive Painting with Alex Shundi

Tuesdays, 10:30 am – 4:30 pm, Aug 25 – Nov 10

8 weeks

Oil painting in progress

A new session is beginning soon.

Arts on the Lake is offering the class to anyone interested in the understanding and practice of making art. Continuing a class-tradition first began in 2004, the class is designed to help, consult, and guide students who wish to improve their interests in making paintings and drawings.

We will discuss composition, color, form and shape, space, time and materials, all related to the wonderful process of art-making.

The students may either bring in whatever work they are interested in and have already accomplished, or be advised as to what to paint depending on the needs to improve their vision and craft.

Advanced  or beginning students are to be included in the class.  During lunch time there will be an hour or so of lectures on artists, methods, and historical, international art “isms” and discoveries.

Often, we will have a “general criticism”, where the individual work is discussed by all the students who may choose whatever medium they wish and will be helped with it.

The class is taught by Alexander Shundi and will be presented every Tuesday, from 10.30 am to 4.30 pm for eight weeks. For the 48 hours of class the cost is $600.
