Tales of Tall Feather, Cosmic Dust and Legs Askew

"TALES FROM THE LAKE"

The Arts on the Lake Writers Group presents their “Annual Read” on Friday October 18th at 7pm. Come for an evening of poetry; prose; memoir; fiction, fun and refreshments!

Join us as Tail Feather paddles on a river that flows two ways and a love letter is written to Summer’s abundance. From AmeriCorps memories of kids covered with homeopathic repellent to the pitter patter of paws on hardwood floors and rains’ frenzy zapping your ears. From the turf fire in the hearth glowing bright as old Ned recounts echos of ages past to the cosmic dust swept by birds’ little stick feet. Hilarious episodes from six decades of mammograms to human legs askew in the grass of an accident scene and space zombies in a suffering fog swinging themselves across a creek like Tarzan!

New Songwriting Workshops

Two sessions of the Songwriting Workshop have been scheduled with the first one starting September 21st. Taught by 7 time Emmy nominee, Kati Mac, the workshops are an excellent way to start or enhance your songwriting skills. For info click here.

HEAT WARNINGS! CONCERT INSIDE TONGIGHT!

Due to the heat advisory warnings from the National Weather Service and local stations, we will be holding the Arts on the Lake Jazz Ensemble concert inside this evening. There will be plenty of room so come enjoy the coolness while listening to the great music!

Empanadas from Tango Diaries on film.

Whether you remember the empanadas or not, you may like this short film on the Cold Spring couple who made them - and took time from their Rincon to attend the Friday performance.

Summer Concert Volunteers

If you can help out this summer at the outdoor concerts, or in the office, let us know. For the summer concerts, we provide meals for the visiting bands. If you can cook simple dinners (or maybe not so simple), let us know at office@artsonthelake.org.
