To help celebrate the Kent Public Library’s 50th Anniversary, Arts on the Lake is presenting an evening of sketches, music, historic interviews and a puppet play from Robert Burns’ Tam O’Shanter.
Tam O'Shanter has been conceived and directed by Mary Schreiber with narration by Kate Mackie and a cast of nine.
Sketches have been written by James Shearwood using the assistance of neighbors, an archivist and a cast of eight.
Music has been written by Jimmy Durante, Burt Bacharach and others.
The list of participants whether musician, puppeteer or actor, currently includes Lisa Ameijide, Sal Armato, Suzanne Bohmer, Patricia Bolgosano, Kathy Burkovitz, Janette Devine, Asher Duke, Don Longabucco, Rita Longabucco, Cameron Mackie, Kate Mackie, Cie Peterson, Margarita Rubiano, James Shearwood, Leno Toich and Sandy Toich.
For these performances, the Arts on the Lake membership discount has been extended to Friends of the Kent Public Library members. One may join either or both organizations at the time of the performance.
