A Conversation with author MARK SLOUKA

Sunday, October 27, 2013 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Mark Slouka author of Brewster

The author of Brewster will speak, read and be available for questions.

Arts on the Lake partners with the Kent Public Library on this event.

For the first 16 years of his life, Jon does his best to blend into the bleak landscape. He works in his father’s shoe store. He eats lunch alone. Then two things happen that change his life: his history teacher asks him to join the track team, and he meets Ray. From the NY Times review of Brewster by Mark Slouka

Slouka is the author of four previous works of fiction including Lost Lake and The Visible World.  Associate Professor of Creative Writing at Columbia University, he is a frequent contributor to Harper's Magazine, where he is a contributing editor. He lives in Brewster, New York.

Through arrangement with the Book Cove in Pawling, copies of Brewster will be available for purchase ($20) and the author will be available for signing.

Although there is no charge to attend, to plan appropriately, we encourage reservations to rsvp@artsonthelake.org or 845-228-2685.
