With more than 40 years in mainstream New York book and magazine publishing, Patricia Horan is well versed in the full scope of book publishing. She is currently editor/publisher of The Round House Press in Kent, Connecticut.
Patricia will share her thoughts on what editors and publishers are looking for in traditional publishing, self-publishing, and print-on-demand publishing, including:
• creating effective design and organization
• avoiding the pitfalls of poor editing when self-publishing
• using attractive cover design
• creating an appealing title
• writing effective query and cover letters
• preparing book proposals for agents and editors
She will also discuss the speed of modern publishing and share some thoughts on writing memoir.

About the Event
Patricia Horan was founding editor-in-chief of a successful Crown/Random House division and edited books for Time-Life, Fawcett, Viking, Penguin, and others. In 2008, she founded The Round House Press in Kent, Connecticut, where she is publisher and editor-in-chief.
