Sunday, October 21, 2012 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Community Workshop
Instructor: Sandy McKelvey
In one lesson you'll learn a few chords and a simple tune. Bring your family heirloom or rent one for the workshop. All levels of experience welcome. Should participants want to continue practicing together, the AotL Ukulele Orchestra could be formed.
If you have an extra ukulele, bring it. Arrangements have been made with Radovich & Dean Music to have rental instruments available. When registering, let us know if you have or will need a ukulele.
Public admission is $5. There is no charge for students or members of Arts on the Lake. Ukulele rental: $10.
Those who plan to attend should email rsvp@artsonthelake.org, call 845 228-2685 or click "Buy Tickets" above.
This Workshop is made possible, in part, by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Cuomo and the NY State Legislature and with public funds from Putnam County. These grant programs are managed and monitored by the Putnam Arts Council.

About the Event
Although Sandy McKelvey studied classical guitar as a teenager and later pursued Brazilian Bossa Nova while living in Brazil during college, she picked up the ukulele about ten years ago and soon realized what a great instrument it was for ease of learning, instant gratification and because it's small it travels well. It's a great starter instrument.
