Julliard students perform to benefit arts program in Guatemala
Julliard students* bring this program of music and drama to AotL to raise funds for Rayos de Canción - an arts program for children in Antigua in Guatemala.
Just as the Voxare String Quartet (formed when they were students at Julliard) thrilled us last summer at the Sedgewood Boathouse, this is a chance to meet the next generation of classical musicians before they join major orchestras, quartets and ensembles throughout the nation.
*This benefit is organized by Carmel High School graduate Caterina Longhi, pictured in Gallery.
Although subject to change, the program is scheduled to include:
The Rayos de Canción story.
Bach Cello Suite No. 6, Prelude and Allemande, performed by Caterina Longhi.
Piazzola Duet for Flute and Tambourine, performed by Matt Wright and Ian Sullivan.
A skit performed by Kerry Warren and Danny Hernandez.
Duets for Violin and Viola performed by Caterina Longhi and Caeli Smith.
A Mozart Flute Quartet performed by Matt Wright, Caterina Longhi, Caeli Smith and Maria Longhi.
The program will be followed by refreshments with the performers.
Proceeds will benefit Rayos de Canción. Purchase at "Buy Tickets" above or reserve at: rsvp@artsonthelake.org
