Voxare String Quartet

The young, gifted and critically acclaimed Voxare String Quartet was formed at the Juilliard School in 2007 and is composed of two couples: violinist Emily Ondracek-Peterson and violist Erik Peterson from Chicago and violinist Galina Zhdanova and cellist Adrian Daurov from Russia.
With a repertoire spanning five centuries, the Voxare has chosen to play:
String Quartet No. 4 in C minor, Op 18, No. 4 (1798-1800) by Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827)
String Quartet No. 1 (1985) by Daron Hagen (b. 1961)
String Quartet No. 3 in F major, Op 73 (1946) by Dmitri Shostakovich (1906-1975).
This performance will take place at the Sedgewood Boathouse (1026 Barrett Circle West) in Western Kent and is supported by the Friends of Classical Music at Arts on the Lake.

About the Event
The NY Times has chosen Voxare as its Classical Pick of the Week on numerous occasions. Voxare is a frequent performer at Bargemusic (NYC) where the quartet has been quartet-in-residence. Voxare has been featured live on WNYC’s Soundcheck and had its concerts broadcast on WQXR. Voxare performs new works in its residency at Teachers College, Columbia University and will have a performing residency at Dartmouth this season. Voxare has earned the Chamber Music America’s 2010 ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming.
