A family and a community are torn apart in Brooklyn when a longshoreman decides to take on corruption in his union.
Danbury based actor Paul Bomba ("Law and Order") plays ten roles in a drama set in the dangerous waterfront world of 1950's Red Hook, Brooklyn.
FYI. At the end of the 17th century handbills circulated in the Caribbean advertising New York as the perfect place for pirates to find refuge and do business. Its most eminent citizen, Peter Stuyvesant, made his fortune by building and hiring out ships for piracy.
Three hundred years later, in the nineteen fifties, it was the richest port in the world. Seventy ships arrived or departed every day of the year. Forty thousand dock workers, in teams of twenty or thirty, worked for several days to unload one ship.
It is still the richest port, but, with containerization, fewer workers.
