Venetian Painters

The City of Venice has produced an exceptional number of amazingly important artists in its 1400 years of existence. As a “place” it is unique in the world: a floating dream, with a population that hovered around an average of 80,000. Built on water and swampy islands, owning a specifically invented architecture, it was not connected to terra-firma until the 20th century. We will cover the most outstanding of these masters, formally analyze their operas, and presenting the soul of their esthetics, always connecting their art to the beauty and magic of their city.

Intensive Painting with Alex Shundi

Intensive Painting is a unique class that meets once a week for 6 hours for 8 weeks for a total of 48+ hours of instruction time. Through discussions and demonstrations of technique with each student, Alex Shundi brings a remarkable understanding and capability to teaching this class. The great variety of subjects and personal concerns presented by the students and encouraged by the teacher, help in informing and inspiring various methods of approach to everyone present, and well as carrying forward the subjective concepts of the painters, accelerating its progress.

Life Drawing Sessions

Life Drawing Sessions are offered for area artists and students of any level who wish to sketch using a live model. Held weekly in a relaxed collegial atmosphere, different models provide artists an opportunity to study the human figure.
