A story taken from today's headlines

Locked in a prison in his mind, a Vietnam Veteran is shaken by his encounter with an Illegal Immigrant trying to avoid a prison that is more literal.

About the Event

Tony Howarth has written a dozen one-act plays. His full length plays include Thornwood, produced off-Broadway, across the U.S., Europe, Tanzania, made into an award-winning independent film, Slings and Arrows; Sundown (Sonora, Calif.); Dream City Twosome (off-Broadway); Billy Bubblehead, at Axial Theatre, Pleasantville, N.Y.; a musical, Troll-Loll-La!, with Shelly Gartner (Arts on the Lake, April 2010); two other musicals, Dream, with Howard Kilik, based on Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Shirley Girl (Arts on the Lake, November 2009). He has for many summers directed with the College Light Opera Company in Falmouth, Mass. He has received grants from the Death in America Foundation, the Drama League and the Putnam Arts Council. He was playwright-in-residence at the award-winning Mint Theatre, NYC, 1991 to 1995 where he began a playwrighting seminar, which he now conducts at Arts on the Lake.
