Coming soon to Arts on the Lake

Summer Concert Series #4

Our own noted trumpet player, composer, and arranger Tim Ouimette brings a group of remarkable players to our outdoor stage. With the voice of Joe Ferrara, Jim West on Piano, Michael Goetz on Bass and Ouimette on horns, this quartet brings to life the magic that Sinatra created.

Ouimette is musician who has played with the masters of the jazz world as well as many other noted performers. They include: Ray Charles, Cab Calloway, Ray Barretto and Keith Richards. He is an in demand player for TV and radio spots as both a musician and arranger. He also has his own 10-piece band that  makes its home at Arts on the Lake.  Tim is currently finishing a recording project that includes drummers Mike Clark and Lenny White, as well as blues stalwart Delbert McClinton.

Bass player Michael Goetz is featured on three recent CD’s, the first is entitled “Music in Film: The Reel Deal”, The Richard Baratta group. The other CD’s,“A Very Gypsy Christmas”, which was was awarded as a top five jazz holiday release by the Wall Street Journal Arts Section. The third CD entitled "The Harry Warren Songbook" is another new release featuring the music of the late great composer. Two of the CD's are from the group called "La Pompe Attack" the leader being the guitarist Doug Munro, performed in the style of Gypsy Swing music.

Ron Vincent, on drums, has co-written, produced and performed in two educational DVDs for the Masterjazz series, Learn To Play Jazz & Becoming an Improviser. The DVDs feature trumpeter/educator John McNeil along with a quintet of NY musicians. As a leader, his own trio and quartet are active in the New York City area and his quartet has toured the U.S. and Europe. As a jazz artist/educator for Sabian Cymbals, Ron presented workshops at over 100 Colleges and Universities and has been on the faculty of the Jamie Aebersold Jazz Camps and the Stanford Jazz Camp (CA). In 1996 Ron received a National Endowment for the Arts grant for jazz performance.

The Annual Summer Concert Series held in July is made possible, in part, because of our sponsors in the local business community. Held on the Concert Lawn, it is a pay-as-you-wish basis but we ask that you contribute generously so that we can continue these wonderful concerts.

This project is made possible, in part, through the Putnam Arts Council’s Arts Link Grant Program with public funds provided through the NY State Council on the Arts with support from Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the NY State Legislature and with public funds from Putnam County.

Concerts are generally rain or shine and may be held indoors if it is severe weather. They start at 7 PM. You are welcome to bring your own chairs, food and drink to the concerts. Parking is limited so we suggest arriving at least 20 minutes before the concert.
