The Strategy of Composition in the Story of Art

This is a 6 week lecture series on Monday evenings on the Zoom platform. Each night's lecture is slated to last one hour but usually lasts about 1 1/2 hours from 7 PM. Links are provided on the day of the lecture and the sessions are taped for re-watching at any time.

"The Strategy of Composition in the Story of Art: an analysis of various strategies and methods on how to reveal an intention or story in the difficult but magical format of painting, a study of past means and discoveries, and a discussion on the eight most important elements of its function).

When we confront a painting, the contents are arranged to guide our eye into an emotional; experience, serving to accompany us into a journey dictated by the exigencies of a story told by the artist, using a plethora of stratagems based on the manipulation of dynamics in an illusion of space-time.

Where we accept entering into a world of sensations, motion, recognition, poetry and mystery. It is only some pigment spread on a cloth in humble two dimension.

But the strategic methods used to arrange our journey are the lessons of thousands of years of exploration and inventions, that employ a wide variety of means.

How do we enter into a world of illusive sensations? Where do we go next and why? How will we react to these apparitions, this presence of time-atmosphere-movement, etc.?

The strategies of the artist will reveal an interesting and inspiring analysis, as we will study these creative images throughout the story of humanity.
