The Renaissance (The Rebirth)

In this six part virtual lecture series with Alex Shundi, he takes us on an extraordinary "cultural and social miracle that was the Renaissance. Sessions will be taped and available for viewing. Sessions will be weekly on Tuesday evenings at 7 PM. Links to the Zoom sessions will be provided in the afternoon of the day of the lectures.

"The seemingly sudden cultural and social miracle that was the Renaissance was a major step into following the path that led to our times. Philosophers, architects, statesmen, an array of scientific inventions, all guided by an enlightenment in the arts, may still be seen and experienced today not only in museums and city centers, but in the very core of our social structure.

We will trace the reasons and visions of this explosive movement that has defined our concept of beauty and harmony up to now. Principally born in Italy and Holland, but perfected and amplified throughout Europe while adopting innovative elements from the East, we will explore how it came about and why, by experiencing the plethora of masterpieces here today that the genius of its artists gifted us. It will be a journey accompanied by intrigue and revelations, spirituality and a seemingly impossible scale of visual mastery, affording amazing elegance."
