Bringing New Sounds to AotL
The talented singer-songwriter Marissa Detlor brings a blend of R&B and pop songs to Arts on the Lake’s second installment of the Young Performers Series. 23-year-old Detlor favors records that combine a fiery mix of catchy and vocally driven anthems and soulful gritty down tempos. Two records off her latest EP, “Self Made,” were featured on the Hulu original “Shrill’s” soundtrack alongside major artists Ariana Grande and Lil Wayne.
As a youngster, she first showcased her vocal abilities at various venues across New York and Connecticut and won 1st place in six regional competitions. She was naturally drawn to unapologetic trailblazers that have pushed culture and music forward.
Her first major steps as a recording artist were in 2018, when she recorded and released her debut EP, “Self Made”. Her album launched at #9 for pop albums & #50 for all genres on the iTunes Charts upon release. Two records off of the album were placed in episode 4 of new Hulu TV Show "Shrill".
This concert will be livestreamed from AOTL on our Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/ArtsontheLake/live/
