Vote Early and Often
VOTE for Arts on the Lake in the Chase Community Giving program by WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 19 to decide which charities share in $5 million in grants. You can vote via Facebook (accept the CGC App) or, for Chase customers, visit Chase Community Giving. If you have both Facebook and Chase on-line accounts, you can cast two votes for Arts on the Lake. Then tell all your friends to do the same.
Year-End Giving
We wish to thank our supporters who have enabled us to meet a challenge grant from the Anne Anastasi Charitable Foundation this fall. All additional year-end gifts are tax-deductible whether on-line or by printable donation form. Consider also program advertising, sponsorships, and membership renewals. Fall Art Exhibit — Call for Entries
The Visual Arts Committee (VAC) of Arts on the Lake is hosting the Fall Exhibition to celebrate local artists. The exhibition is open to artists 18 years and older. The deadline for registration is Wednesday, September 19. See the prospectus for more information.
Press Release: David Amram to Play Concert at Sedgewood
Putnam’s David Amram will celebrate friends of almost sixty years in a concert of his music at the Sedgewood Club Boathouse, 1026 Barrett Circle West, Kent, NY, on Saturday, August 11 at 8 pm. A pioneer player of jazz French horn, Amram has composed more than 100 orchestral and chamber works, written theatre and film scores. Read full press release

Press Release: Arts on the Lake's Eclectic Open Mouth Returns Saturday
Open Mouth, or vaudeville for the 21st century, returns to Arts on the Lake, 640 Route 52, Lake Carmel, Saturday, August 4, at 8 pm. Developed by Arts on the Lake’s Executive Director James Shearwood, Open Mouth is short acts, sketches, singer/songwriters and variety presentations. “It is sort like the Ed Sullivan Show on a smaller budget,” said Shearwood. The band Tiki Daddy will open the Summer Concerts Series at Arts on the Lake, Friday, July 13, at 7 pm. Composed of John Harms (guitar/vocals), Art Labriola (lap steel guitar) and Al Hemberger (bass/vocals), Tiki Daddy is headquartered in Cold Spring and widely known in the area. Ada Dyer, performer of R&B and soul music, is set to perform the songs of Aretha Franklin on Friday, July 20, at 7 pm at Arts on the Lake, 640 Route 52, Lake Carmel. The second in AotL’s outdoor Summer Concert Series, Ms. Dyer comes to Lake Carmel from recent appearances at B. B. King’s in New York City. Read full press release

Cobert Operations, a band headed by Jon Cobert, will operate at Arts on the Lake, 640 Route 52, Lake Carmel, Friday, July 27, at 7 pm. Drawing Instructor at New Arts Gallery
Artist Elizabeth Seewald Hill will open an exhibition at the New Arts Gallery, 513 Maple Street, Litchfield, CT, on Saturday, July 7, 3-6 pm, and inaugurate a 4-week Drawing Class at Arts on the Lake on Wednesday, July 11, 6-8:30 pm.
