"Not Dead Yet" - Malachy McCourt Returns

Panache, an Irish folk ensemble will be opening for Malachy.

Renowned Irish-American actor, author, politician and storyteller, Malachy McCourt returns to Arts on the Lake Aug 24th at 7:30 PM. Celebrating life through the telling of his own, he leads the audience through weeping and laughing with music, humor, and witty stories.

Opening the evening will be Panache, an Irish folk ensemble playing a selection of traditional Irish melodies.

Born in Brooklyn and raised in Limerick, Ireland, McCourt’s career extends from the stage, television and movies, to being a radio host, writing a series of books, and running for the governorship of New York. He had a long career in television soap operas such Ryan’s Hope and One Life to Live, was in numerous movies and was a regular on the talk show circuit. He gained fame in New York as the owner of Malachy's, a bar on Third Avenue that became a legend in its time. Celebrities and others gathered there nightly in an atmosphere of unmatched conviviality.

 

His recent book, Death Need Not Be Fatal, brings his famous humor to a subject that touches everyone. He will be signing copies at the event.
