HWAET! We have heard the stories of the ancient Spear Danes: their courage and greatness and heroic campaigns.

Beowulf: the story of one man’s struggle against the forces of evil. The first poetic masterpiece in the history of the English language will be performed by Hawk Rock Theater using actors, art, masks, music, poetry, and puppets.

Beowulf is poetry of the highest order and an astonishing survivor. Written down by Anglo-Saxon scribes around 1000 AD, the poem had already been alive in the oral tradition for hundreds of years. It is a powerful and beautiful ancient tale.

Hawk Rock Theater evolved from the Arts on the Lake Puppet Theater Group and makes its home at AotL.
