A Benefit for Nepal: The Mystical Sound of Tibetan Bowls

Wednesday, May 6, 2015 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm

Coming soon to Arts on the Lake

Please join us.

Experience the sound of Tibetan bowls as played by Beth Mullin. This unique sound art affects the listener in a deep and meditative way. Beth is dedicating all her proceeds to benefit the victims of the recent Earthquake in Nepal. Funds will be given to the International Medical Corps whose focus is to provide medical help. You can learn more about their effort here.

Beth was trained by Shree Krishna Shahi, a 3rd generation sound-healer from Nepal. It is in Katmandu, Nepal that this master teacher has his healing center. She is hoping for the best.

The sound of Tibetan Bowls is a unique one that combines both a sense of deep resonance with the harmony of tones. They are traditionally used for "sound healing." Beth has performed over 100 sound healing events over the last 5 years.

The format of the concert is one where the audience become participants with many bringing their own mats and/or pillows to relax upon. Others may sit in regular chairs and simply listen to the sounds. Either way, the experience is one you are unlikely to forget.

Doors open at 7, with a prompt start at 7:30. Due to the nature of the evening no one may enter after the concert begins. You may wish to wear comfortable clothes and or bring blankets, pillows, and yoga mats to best experience this ancient form art. Chairs will be available for those who prefer to sit. This evening is not suitable for children.

Please purchase tickets in advance, if possible.
