The Joys of Zentangle with Jill Greenbaum

A 3-Part Workshop

Everyone is welcome to become a part of this delightful journey. No artistic experience is necessary in this series of 3 workshops given by Jill Greenbaum. This is the right place to begin or further your capabilities. In this 3 part series, you start with "The Basics" and then can continue on to delve into more complex styles and images, explored in the "Black Tiles" and the "Renaissance" Workshops.

If you are new to Zentangle you need to first take "The Basics" workshop before the next 2 of the series. If you participated in the Spring Zentangle Workshop you are welcome to take the "The Basics" again as we will be working with different designs, or you may also just attend either or both of the latter 2 sessions.

Each Workshop uses different materials that are supplied as part of the workshop fee. If you have your own materials the cost will be adjusted at the beginning of the workshops.

Part I - "The Basics" - Dec 7
In the first session, we examine the roots of this art and learn the steps to follow to draw your own wonderful tiles. You also discover the influence of the string you draw on the tangles you choose. This foundational understanding will bring depth and breadth to your Zentangle practice.

Materials featured: white tiles, micron pen, pencil and tortillion

Part II - "Black Tiles" - Dec 14
Explore the reverse of all you have learned—we will use black tiles and white pens. Using gel pens and white chalk we will play with layering techniques to create fascinating new possibilities as the combination of black tiles and white pens creates striking possibilities for your images.

Materials featured: black tiles, white gel pen, and white chalk pencil

Part III - "Renaissance Tiles" - Dec 21

In this session, we shift into working with tan paper, black and brown pens, and white gel pens to visit the time of Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo. We will study the iconic characteristics of these masters and use techniques that create similar looks for our our own works of art.

Materials featured:Renaissance tiles, brown pen, and white gel pen

You will need to register and pay for each workshop separately. The material costs are included. If you already have materials, cost can be adjusted at the beginning of the workshops.
