Maria Calegari and Bart Cook are highly regarded former principal dancers with New York City Ballet, where Bart also choreographed. Both Maria and Bart teach professional companies all over the world, for which they also set the ballets of famed choreographers George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins. They have worked with young students and pre-professionals for 15 years, at the Richmond Ballet Center for Dance, SUNY Purchase, and Cincinnati Ballet School. Maria was founder and director of the Maria Calegari School of Ballet in New Milford, CT. Both Maria and Bart have appeared often on television, including Live from Lincoln Center and Dance in America. Bart played Herr Drosselmayer in the film, "George Balanchine's The Nutcracker." For the past three years, their original production of "The Magic of the Nutcracker Tale" has been a sell-out presentation at Arts on the Lake.
